During the brief stopover in Malta of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to commemorate their 60th wedding anniversary, Mr John Magro, Chairman of Magro Brothers Group of Companies, and his wife Lynn, were invited to a private audience at San Anton Palace. This distinctive occasion came about following John Magro’s pledge to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh two years ago, on 25th November 2005, when His Royal Highness visited the Magro plant at Xewkija, Gozo.

To commemorate this event, Mr Magro had pledged that every year a selection of Savina delicacies will be presented to His Royal Highness. Last year these products were sent directly to Buckingham Palace.

This year, whilst on a private visit to Malta, HRH Prince Philip opted to meet with Mr & Mrs John Magro personally and find out more about these typical Maltese products.

“It is a very special occasion and great honour for me and our employees to have our fine products appreciated by The Royal Family,” commented an overjoyed John Magro.
