On the occasion of the opera weekend in Gozo, the 15th October marked the launch of a new range of products under the name of "mir-riċetti ta' Sor Serafina™.
For the event, guests were treated to tastings of Sor Serafina's speciality - the "Torta ta' Sor Serafina" - a delicious cake made with candied fruit pieces, roasted almonds and walnuts, honey and citrus fruits.
 
This new range of products is another brainchild of Mr John Magro, Managing Director of the Magro Group of Companies. Sor Serafina, born in 1892, was a loving aunt of his family, who became a nun at a very young age and was a regular provider of sweet delights for Christmas, Easter and the summer feast of Santa Maria.
Products in the Sor Serafina range are actual recipes which Mr Magro found amongst his grandmother's papers. The recipes brought back such good memories to him that he decided to give honor to his dear aunt by recreating these gourmet delights.
