The carob tree is an indigenous tree that grows all over the Maltese islands. Its fruit matures in mid-summer and is used to produce this velvety smooth, rich syrup. Ta’ Mari’s carob syrup is special as it it pure, without any sugars added, and is a natural remedy for colds and sore throats or used as a perfect substitute for sugars in desserts.
