Raspinotto Zampone

Description

The zampone by Raspini Salumi is produced with a mixture of select pork meat seasoned with spices and aromas and stuffed in the typical casing formed by the pig’s trotter.

Named after the “zampa” (foot) of the pig, Zampone is a classical dish served in Italy as a second course for the Christmas meal or especially on New Year’s Eve, as it was thought to bring good fortune for the coming year! After simmering in a pot till very tender it is served sliced, in rounds, with cooked lentils and a hearty potato mash!

Zampone has always been considered quite an exquisite product, therefore it was especially reserved for the festivities.

 

Ingredients

Pig meat, rind, pig fat, salt, flavourings, spices, antioxidants: sodium ascorbate, preservatives: sodium nitrite.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources.
