The prickly pear cactus plant producers a delicious fruit which comes in a variety of colours ranging from green to yellow,red and purple.Once you get  past the skin, the soft, freshly fruit has a sweet,melon-like aroma. Prickly Pear  are typically available during the hot summer months.
